Ramey
Chardonnay Hyde 2007 - 94 points Parker (about $70 a
bottle)
The brilliant 2007
Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard reveals lots of nectarine,
honeysuckle, orange blossom,… and a full-bodied, fresh
finish with no evidence of wood.
Argiano
Brunello di Monatlcino 2004 94 points Wine Spectator
(about $65 retail a bottle)
Delivers raisins,
blackberries and roses on the nose. Full-bodied, with a
soft and silky tannin structure and a long and delicious
finish. This is the best Brunello ever from here.
Best from 2010 through 2016.
Robert Foley
Merlot 2007 -95 points Parker (about $60 retail a
bottle)
It is hard to find much
better Merlot than Foley’s 2007 Merlot. This is a
blockbuster wine as well. Opulent, exuberant, with that
certain “wow” factor from layers of melted fudge,
espresso roast, plum, fig, and black cherry and currants,
…This is a whopper to drink over the next 14+ years.
Anderson’s
Conn Valley Eloge 2005 - 96 points Parker (about $95
retail a bottle)
The 2005 Eloge is a
staggering wine …Full-bodied flavors are followed by
a wine with sweet tannins, beautifully deep,
concentrated layered fruit flavors, and a long, heady
finish. This is gorgeous stuff that should evolve nicely
for 15 or more years.
Ramey
Cabernet Sauvignon Annum 2006 93 points Parker (about
$95 retail a bottle)
The 2006 Cabernet
Sauvignon Annum (96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% mixed
Bordeaux varietals) exhibits aromas of chocolate,
cassis, incense, and flowers as well as a distinctive
minerality/earthiness, full-bodied power, and a dense,
layered mouthfeel. It should easily keep for 25+ years.
Domaine
Serene Pinot Noir Grace 2007- 93 points Parker (about
$150 retail a bottle)
. Dark ruby-colored,
it offers up a beautifully complex aromatic array of
pain grille, sage, thyme, incense, rose petal,
raspberry, and cherry… succulent fruit, impeccable
balance, and a 60-second finish.
